14. When the host has been unzoned, click Completed.
The Data Transfer status displays the Start button.
15. Click Start to begin the migration.
A confirmation screen identifies conditions that must be met before beginning the migration.
IMPORTANT: Once a migration begins, it cannot be stopped.
16. When all the conditions have been met, click Start Data Transfer.
A progress bar indicates how much of the data has been migrated. The progress bar is
refreshed every 15 seconds.
17. When the migration is complete, the migration entry is deleted, and the Migration History is
updated with the information about the migration.
NOTE: For additional steps that might be required when rebooting the VMware/ESX hosts post
migration, see “Post-migration tasks” (page 32).
Migrating an IBM AIX host
The minimally disruptive migration process is used when migrating IBM AIX hosts.
NOTE: When using the minimally disruptive migration procedure to migrate IBM/AIX hosts, the
HP 3PAR multipath software for AIX must be installed. The host must be rebooted after installing
the HP 3PAR multipathing software for AIX. Following the reboot, the new set of physical disks
from the HP 3PAR storage system must be configured on the host.
1. In Command View, select the Storage Systems point of view.
2. In the left navigation pane, expand the source EVA menu and select a host.
3. Select the HP EVA to 3PAR StoreServ Online Import tab.
4. Click Add Migration.
5. Read the information on the Introduction screen and click Next.
The Select explicit migration source screen is displayed.
6. Select the host that will be the source and click Next.
The Confirm Explicit and Implicit Migration Sources screen is displayed.
TIP: If the number of objects included in the migration is too large, you can cancel the
migration at this point.
7. Check the implicit and explicit host and virtual disk selections to ensure that they are ready
for migration. When using HP P6000 Command View 10.3.2 or later, select the Migration
Type as Minimally Disruptive. Click Next.
