2 Installing drivers

Notes:
1. Go to http://www.hp.com/go/support.
2. Click See support and troubleshooting information.
3. Using the HP model number as a guide, enter the CNA model number in the for product box.
4. Select Manuals.
For additional information, see the QConvergeConsole online help.
The order of software installation is important. The software must be installed in the following order:
1. Install QConvergeConsole on a management server. See “Setting up the QConvergeConsole
on a management server” (page 16).
2. Install the drivers. See “Installing drivers on Windows or Linux” (page 17).
3. Update the CNA firmware and BIOS. See “Updating firmware and BIOS” (page 18).
4. Install multipathing software (if required). See “Installing multipathing software” (page 19).
Setting up the QConvergeConsole on a management server
The QConvergeConsole application must be setup before installing the drivers and updating the
firmware.
NOTE: Do not use SANsurfer (QLogic HBA management application) to manage QLogic CNAs.
You must use the QConvergeConsole application to manage CNAs. Unlike SANsurfer, you install
the QConvergeConsole application on only one management server in your network to manage
all CNAs.
Installing the QConvergeConsole application
This section describes how to download and install the QConvergeConsole application on the
Windows and Linux operating systems.
Downloading the QConvergeConsole kits and agents
To locate and download the QConvergeConsole application kit:
1. Go to http://www.hp.com/go/support.
2. Click Download drivers and software (and firmware).
3. Using the HP model number as your guide, enter the CNA model number in the for product
box.
4. Select the operating system.
5. Select the QConvergeConsole application kit and download it to the server.
NOTE: To download QConvergeConsole agent, repeat steps 1 through 4 and then select
QConvergeConsole agent in step 5.
