Important installation notes:
- Missing Logging Information in Serviceguard package log file.
If the package startup reaches the startup time limit, Serviceguard will kill all running startup
processes. Log messages of the CLX startup process are not written to the package log file
immediately. Therefore, if Serviceguard kills the CLX processes, the CLX log messages are
lost and you will not see any startup information in the package log file.
However, CLX keeps its own log file /var/opt/hpclx/log/clxmcsg.log. If Serviceguard kills the
CLX processes during startup, you can check the clxmcsg.log file for the potential cause.
This problem has been seen when CLX waits for disk pair resynchronization to finish and the
startup timeout is set too low, meaning it times out before the disk pairs reach PAIR state.
- CLX XP fails to find the local host name in the data center host list:
The package startup fails due to an error with CLX. CLX logs the following message:
[ERROR][####] System <host name> is not configured in neither data center A's nor data
center B's system list.
This could be caused by a difference between the system's configured host name and the way
it is written in the user configuration file (package environment file).
To confirm this, display the system's host name by running the command:
# hostname
If it is a fully qualified host name, then the host name in the user configuration file should also
be a fully qualified host name.
For example:
# hostname
server1.domain.com
"server1.domain.com" should be the name listed as one of the hosts in the user configuration
file for either "DC_A_Hosts" or "DC_B_Hosts."
- Here is the updated CLX/RAID Manager compatibility chart:
