3 Installing P6000 Cluster Extension
Software for Linux
This chapter describes how to install the P6000 Cluster Extension Software in a Linux environment.
The software provides integration with SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension, Red Hat
Cluster Suite, and a standalone application that can be used for other solutions.

Prerequisites
Before installing P6000 Cluster Extension, perform the following tasks:
1. Check “General installation prerequisites” on page 9 to make sure your setup meets the general
installation prerequisites.
2. For the cluster software versions and P6000 arrays that are supported with P6000 Cluster
Extension, see the HP SPOCK website: http://www.hp.com/storage/spock.
3. Make sure you have the latest supported software and firmware versions, fixes, FC adapter
firmware, and driver versions.
4. Complete the Linux pre-installation procedures. See “Pre-installation procedures” on page 31 for
more information.
Pre-installation procedures
Before installing P6000 Cluster Extension, perform the following configuration procedures:
1. Checking the IP network setup and SAN configuration, page 32

3. Installing and configuring the HP P6000/EVA SMI-S server on all management servers, page 32
