3 Installing HP 3PAR Cluster Extension Software for Linux
This chapter describes how to install the HP 3PAR Cluster Extension Software in a Linux environment.
The software provides integration with SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension, Red Hat
Cluster Suite, HP Serviceguard for Linux, and a standalone application that can be used for other
solutions.
NOTE: For information on configuring HP 3PAR Cluster Extension Software in a Linux environment,
see the HP 3PAR Cluster Extension Software Administrator Guide.
Prerequisites
Before installing HP 3PAR Cluster Extension, perform the following tasks:
1. Check “General installation prerequisites” (page 6) to make sure your setup meets the general
installation prerequisites.
2. For the cluster software versions and HP 3PAR arrays that are supported with HP 3PAR Cluster
Extension, see the HP SPOCK website: http://www.hp.com/storage/spock.
3. For integrating with HP Serviceguard and for the latest HP Serviceguard for Linux support
information, check the HP Serviceguard for Linux Certification Matrix at http://www.hp.com/
info/sglx
4. Make sure you have the latest supported software and firmware versions, fixes, FC adapter
firmware, and driver versions.
5. Complete the Linux pre-installation procedures. See “Pre-installation procedures” (page 8)
for more information.
