HP 3PAR Cluster Extension Software Administrator Guide for Windows (5697-1821, April 2012)
IMPORTANT: User Account Control (UAC) is a feature in Windows Server 2008 onwards that
can help prevent unauthorized changes to your computer. UAC does this by asking you for
permission or an administrator password before performing actions that could potentially affect
your computer's operation or that change settings that affect other users. For more information on
UAC, see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-is-User-Account-Control .
Due to UAC (enabled by default), if the logged on user to the Cluster node is a domain user who
has domain administrator privileges but does not have domain administrator, cannot run the CLX
application like HP 3PAR Cluster Extension Configuration Tool [CLX3PARCONFIG.exe] or
clx3parrun.exe or Clx3PARResConfig.exe. User needs to elevate logged on user privileges
to the local administrator and execute the applications. This can be done using "Run as" way as
shown in the below picture.
