2.1 Highlights
• The HP Insight CMU v7.2 GUI no longer requires an X server.
• HP Insight CMU v7.2 ships a 'smart terminal' which is able to propose the usual contextual
menu when the cursor is positioned over an HP Insight CMU compute node name.
• HP Insight CMU v7.2 fully supports Microsoft Windows provisioning for specific HP Moonshot
cartridges.
• HP Insight CMU v7.2 fully supports new HP Moonshot cartridges, chassis, and firmware
including m100, m300, and quad-node m700.
• HP Insight CMU v7.2 delivers cmudiff improvements making it faster, better, and stronger.
• [TECHPREVIEW] HP Insight CMU v7.2 delivers oneSIS diskless support.
2.2 Automated installation tool
This release provides the cmu_mgt_config tool to automate the installation of an HP Insight CMU
management node.
2.3 Windows provisioning support on specific Moonshot cartridges
IMPORTANT: Windows provisioning is only available on HP ProLiant m300 and m700 Moonshot
cartridges.
2.3.1 Support for autoinstall on Windows
HP Insight CMU autoinstall provides support for Windows 7, Windows Server 2012, and Windows
Server 2012 R2 on specific Moonshot cartridges. Examples of autoinstall template files are available
in the /opt/cmu/templates/autoinstall directory.
IMPORTANT: The add-on package cmu-windows-moonshot-addon-7.2.1–1.noarch.rpm
enables HP Insight CMU autoinstall provisioning for HP Moonshot m300 and m700 cartridges.
2.3.2 Support for backup and cloning on Windows images
HP Insight CMU v7.2 supports backup and cloning of Windows images on specific Moonshot
cartridges. The Windows image backup and cloning processes are similar to Linux image backup
and cloning processes, with a few notable exceptions. For details, see Backup and cloning of
Windows images (page 16).
2.4 GUI improvements
• Eliminate the X server requirement on the client. This enhancement provides the following
advantages:
◦ Provides native support to all HP Insight CMU GUI functionalities on Windows clients
without any requirements for:
– Dependency on a third party X server
– Network layout
– Firewall settings
