3 Upgrading to v7.2
IMPORTANT: The license key format for HP Insight CMU v7.2 is changed from previous versions
of HP Insight CMU. Previous license keys do not work with HP Insight CMU v7.2. Obtain new
license keys before upgrading to v7.2.
IMPORTANT: After upgrading to HP Insight CMU v7.2, you should verify the cmuserver setup
by running:
cmu_mgt_config -c
NOTE: Upgrading to HP Insight CMU v7.2 automatically migrates to 'smart terminal', meaning
the X server may no longer be necessary on the client system running HP Insight CMU.
Installing cmu-windows-moonshot-addon for Windows provisioning requires installation of
the SMB (Samba) server. (Windows is only available on specific Moonshot cartridges.)
In previous versions of HP Insight CMU, the netboot image content was located in /opt/cmu/
ntbt/rp. This folder is now moved to an architecture-specific folder /opt/cmu/ntbt/rp/
x86_64 to prepare support for future architecture add-ons.
Some cmuserver.conf environment variables are now kit properties and will be automatically
upgraded to default kit values.
An upgrade to HP Insight CMU v7.2 supports new fields in the internal HP Insight CMU database.
To reinstall a previous version of HP Insight CMU, you must restore the previous configuration from
backup. Previous versions of HP Insight CMU are unable to restore V7.2 backups.
