Architectural overview
The following architecture diagram (Figure 6-1) gives an overview of some of the components that make up Insight Providers for
Windows. The diagram is color-coded to distinguish between Microsoft-provided components, existing HP components, and
ProLiant WMI components.

Software installation methods
There are a number of ways to install HP Insight Management WBEM Providers version 2.1.0.0:
• An optional Smart Component in ProLiant Support Packs (PSPs) version 8.00 or later, which allows you to install, uninstall,
and control the version of the Insight Providers as a single entity.
• A SmartStart Assisted Path installation option in SmartStart 8.00.
• HP SIM 5.2, which is delivered on the Insight Control v2.20 DVD and Management CD 8.00.
