Configuration and Image File Commands
delete
The delete Privileged EXEC mode command deletes a file from a flash memory device.
Syntax
delete url
Parameters
n url — The location URL or reserved keyword of the file to be deleted. (Range: 1-160
characters)
The following table displays keywords and URL prefixes:

This command has no default configuration.

Command Usage
*.sys, *.prv, image-1 and image-2 files cannot be deleted.
Example
The following command deletes file test from flash memory.
Keyword Description
flash Source or destination URL for flash memory. This is the default when a URL
is specified without a prefix.
startup-config Represents the startup configuration file.
Console# delete flash:test
Delete flash:test? [confirm]
