HP ProLiant Storage Servers
The HP ProLiant Storage Servers provide scalability, flexibility, and cost-effective management of
storage resources. HP offers the following storage servers:
HP ProLiant DL380 G4
HP ProLiant DL580 G2
HP ProLiant DL585
NOTE: The DL380 G4 was formerly called NAS 4000s; the DL580 G2 was called NAS
9000s.

The HP ProLiant Storage Servers offer the following features:
Multi-protocol file serving (Windows, UNIX, Linux, FTP, HTTP, AppleTalk)
Native integration into Microsoft Active Directory
Storage quotas (user and directory)

High-availability clustering through MSCS

Software
The DL380 G4, DL580 G2, and DL585 Storage Servers have Windows Storage Server 2003
Enterprise Edition preinstalled and preconfigured.
HP offers the following optional software packages:
HP ProLiant Storage Server iSCSI Feature Pack
Data replication (HP OpenView Storage Mirroring)
Backup agents
Antivirus software
The HP iSCSI Feature Pack provides iSCSI target functionality to HP storage servers. It enables
hosting of file, print, and application storage services on a single platform.

Hardware
The DL380 G4, DL580 G2, and DL585 are supported in a heterogeneous open SAN as both
standalone and clustered servers. They follow the Windows 2003 SAN hardware rules.
