Conguring FCIP interfaces and tunnels on the HP
StorageWorks 400 MP Router using CLI commands
This section is for expert users.
Command procedure description
1. The user will use a telnet session to connect (login) to the local and remote B-Series routers.
2. Ensure that both the FC and FCIP ports are disabled during conguration operations. This prevents
unintended fabric merges between local and remote fabr ics.
3. By default, virtual ports are created as VE_Ports. If a VEX_Port is desired, use portcfgvexport
to congur
etheport.
4. Use the co
mmand portcfg to congure the GbE port, I P interfaces on the GbE port, static routes
on the IP i
nterface, and FCIP tunnels.
a. Dene the IP interface of each virtual port.
b. Add IP routes on a GbE port, i.e., create the static IP route.
c. Congur
e the FCIP tunnel.

portcfgvexport [slot/]port args
Arguments
-a admin
Specify 1 to enable or 2 to disable the admin.
-f fabricid
Specify 1 to 128 for the fabric ID.
-d domainid
Specify 1 to 2 39 for the preferred domain ID.
-p pidformat
Specify 1 for core, 2 for extended edge, and 3 for native
port ID format.
-t fabric_parameter
Specify 1 to enable or 2 to disable negotiate fabric
parameters.
