HP IIAS uses industry-standard protocols (such as SNMP, SMI-S, Telnet) to monitor the physical
layer (SFPs) across SAN, diagnose changes/events in SFP states/characteristics, and presents the
SAN topology, inventory, and diagnostic information to the user in real-time.
HP Intelligent Infrastructure Analyzer Software features
HP Intelligent Infrastructure Analyzer Software offers the following features:
• Allows to create/delete the multiple SAN profile and activate only one profile at a specific
time.
• Allows to discover and collect data in SAN switch of B - series and H - series.
• Allows to periodically monitor the SAN of an active profile as per the configured intervals.
• Ability to detect bad or degraded SFP’s in the active profile.
• Ability to generate report (current and historical).
• Ability to notify the user on any change in the topology or SFP state.
• Provides logging mechanism for troubleshooting.
• Allows the user to install/remove the valid license and show the status of the current license
validity.
Intended audience
The HP Intelligent Infrastructure Analyzer Software (IIAS) is intended for customers who have HP
storage hardware in their SAN. The HP IIAS can be used to monitor and diagnose the physical
layer of Storage Area Network (SAN) in real-time, with an emphasis on the Small Form-factor
Pluggable (SFP) on FC Switch only. The solution is highly beneficial for enterprise SAN, where
SAN management becomes cumbersome and tedious.
