License Checking and Reporting
Application Recovery Manager licenses are checked and if missing,
reported during various Application Recovery Manager operations, for
example:
• As a part of the Application Recovery Manager checking and
maintenance mechanism, the licenses are checked and, if missing,
reported in the Application Recovery Manager Event Log. Application
Recovery Manager Event Log is located on the Cell Manager in
<AppRM_home>\log\server\Ob2EventLog.txt. For more
information on Application Recovery Manager checking and
maintenance mechanism, see the online Help index: “Event Log,
Application Recovery Manager“.
• When the Application Recovery Manager User Interface is started, if
there are any missing licenses reported in the Application Recovery
Manager Event Log, an Event Log notification is displayed. For more
information on Application Recovery Manager Event Log, see the
online Help index: “Event Log, Application Recovery Manager“.
• When an Application Recovery Manager session is started, the
licenses are checked and, if missing, reported.
Application Recovery Manager licenses are with regard to their
characteristics grouped as follows:
• Cell Manager related license
• entity based licenses
• capacity based licenses
Cell Manager Related License
The Application Recovery Manager Cell Manager related license is an
HP StorageWorks Application Recovery Manager Cell Manager Windows
license-to-use (LTU).
When a certain Application Recovery Manager component, such as the
Cell Manager is present in the cell, only the presence of the required
basic or special license is checked.
