Limitations on Disk Array Integrations
HP StorageWorks Disk Array XP Limitations
• Only BC configurations are supported, CA configurations are not
supported.
• Routine maintenance, including (but not limited to) hot-swapping any
field replaceable components like, disk array controllers, FC switches,
and/or online firmware upgrades during backups are not supported.
Backups are a high-IO activity and should not be done at the same
time as routine maintenance.
HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array Limitations
• Dynamic disks are not supported.
• When cloning of a source volume is in progress, another snapclone of
that source volume cannot be created.
• Instant recovery performed on objects located on lower performance
disks may result in undesired performance penalties. Thus, perform a
ZDB to the high performance disks.
• Routine maintenance, including (but not limited to) hot-swapping
HBAs/SCSI controllers, disk array controllers, FC switches, and/or
online firmware upgrades during backups are not supported. Backups
are a high-IO activity and should not be done at the same time as
routine maintenance.
Limitations on Database Integrations
VSS Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Limitations
• Due to a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 writer issue, non-latin
characters (for example, Japanese characters) for Exchange store or
storage group names are not supported.
Other Limitations
• Dynamic disks are not supported.
