it means that the Windows registry is out of space.
If there are too many entries in the Windows system registry, the registry runs out of
space and consequently backup fails. Although Application Recovery Manager does
not write anything to registry directly, the registry contains entries about all volumes
and disks ever presented on the system recorded by the volume storage driver.
Action
The registry should be cleaned up. For information on how to clean the registry, see
the web page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/277222/en-us.
In case of problems with the installation of the Scrubber utility provided by Microsoft,
contact Microsoft Product Support Services.
It is recommended to perform registry management tasks periodically to prevent the
registry from filling.
Problem
Application Recovery Manager reports “Volume was not removed”.
A backup session reports the error:
Volume 'StorageID', which is part of backup 'backupID', was not removed.
This error may appear if the replica on the disk array is removed but the entry in the
VSS database (VSSDB) remains intact.
For example, this may happen:
If a backup fails and there is no replica and the reference that was created during
the process could not be removed due to network problems.
