Prerequisites
Ensure that you have correctly installed and configured the SAP R/3 application.
The database used by the SAP R/3 application must be an Oracle database.

Application Recovery Manager software product announcements, software
notes, and references or http://www.hp.com/support/manuals.
For information on installing, configuring, and using the SAP R/3 application
and the SAP backup and restore tools (BRBACKUP, BRRESTORE, and
BRARCHIVE), see the SAP R/3 application documentation.
If you plan to use third—party backup software, install Oracle and SAP backup
tools on the backup system as well. See the SAP R/3 application
documentation.
Ensure that you have a license to use the Application Recovery Manager SAP
R/3 integration. For information, see the HP Application Recovery Manager
software installation and licensing guide.
Ensure that you have correctly installed Application Recovery Manager.
For information on how to install the Application Recovery Manager disk array
integration (XP or EVA) with SAP R/3 in various architectures, see the HP

To be able to start the backup on the backup system, install Application
Recovery Manager client also on the backup system.
Before you begin
Windows only:
Restart the Application Recovery Manager Inet service under
the Oracle OS user account described in Configuring users on page 150. For
