Choosing the Cell Manager system
The Cell Manager is the main system in the Application Recovery Manager cell. The
Cell Manager does the following:
• Manages the cell from one central point.
• Contains the IDB (files with information about backup and restore sessions).
• Runs the core Application Recovery Manager software.
• Runs the Session Manager that starts and stops backup and restore sessions and
writes session information to the IDB.
