Uninstalling from HP-UX system
IMPORTANT:
If you leave the Application Recovery Manager configuration data on the system after
the uninstallation, and you later install a lower version of the Application Recovery
Manager Cell Manager than the uninstalled version was, note that the configuration
data will be unusable.
To successfully install a lower version, after the uninstallation remove the remaining
Application Recovery Manager directories from your system.
Before you start uninstalling Application Recovery Manager software, shut down
Application Recovery Manager processes running on the Cell Manager and/or
Installation Server system:
1. Log in as root and execute the omnisv -stop command from the
/opt/omni/sbin directory.
2. Enter the ps -ef | grep omni command to verify whether or not all the
processes have been shut down. There should be no Application Recovery
Manager processes listed after executing .
If you have any Application Recovery Manager processes running, stop them
using the kill -9 process_ID command before you proceed with
uninstalling.
3. Run /usr/sbin/swremove APPRM to uninstall Application Recovery Manager
software.
4. The HP OpenView AutoPass utility is not removed during the Application Recovery
Manager uninstallation. You can manually remove it by running the
/usr/sbin/swremove HPOVLIC command as the user root.

Before uninstalling a UNIX client, you should export it from the cell. For procedure,
refer to “Exporting clients from a cell” on page 95.
