HP Application Recovery Manager software A.06.10 Concepts guide (March 2008)

A Supported configurations
Introduction
This appendix gives you information on the configurations supported on different
disk arrays.
Application Recovery Manager supports the following disk arrays capable of creating
replicas and, in most cases, replica sets:

The configurations described are supported by Hewlett-Packard. For an updated list
of supported configurations, see the latest support matrices available at http://
www.hp.com/support/manuals.
If you want to back up data in a configuration not listed, this does not mean that it
cannot be supported. Contact your local HP representative or HP consulting to
investigate the supportability of additional configurations.
For all supported configurations, for ZDB, a backup specification can only cover one
single application system and one backup system. You can, however, have multiple
backup specifications for each application system, and you can use these to back
up the same application system simultaneously to different filesystems.
Single-host configurations, where a single system is used as both application and
backup system, are not recommended because of performance issues. Only disk
image and filesystem backups are possible using the single-host configuration. For
a list of the supported single-host configurations, see the support matrices.
