Backup Model
Without using the Volume Shadow Copy Service, Application Recovery
Manager has to communicate with each application to be backed up
individually. Application Recovery Manager introduces a unified backup
and restore interface and provides the coordination among the
participants of the backup and restore process.
Zero Downtime Backup
Zero downtime backup is a backup approach in which replication
techniques are used to minimize the impact of backup operations on an
application system. A replica of the data to be backed up is created first,
and all subsequent backup operations are performed on the replicated
data rather than the original data.
As a backup occurs in the background while the application remains
online and available for use, the impact on your environment during a
