it means that the Windows registry is out of space.
If there are too many entries in the Windows system registry, the
registry runs out of space and consequently backup fails. Although
Application Recovery Manager does not write anything to registry
directly, the registry contains entries about all volumes and disks ever
presented on the system recorded by the volume storage driver.
Action The registry should be cleaned up. To clean the registry, see the following
Microsoft page for instructions:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/277222/en-us
In case of problems with the installation of the Scrubber utility provided
by Microsoft, contact Microsoft Product Support Services.
It is recommended to perform registry management tasks periodically to
prevent the registry from filling.
Problem Application Recovery Manager reports “Volume was not
removed”.
A backup session reports the error:
Volume '<StorageID>', which is part of backup '<backupID>',
was not removed.
This error may appear if the replica on the disk array is removed but the
entry in the VSS database (VSSDB) remains intact.
For example, this may happen:
If a backup fails and there is no replica and the reference that was
created during the process could not be removed due to network
problems.
