4. Double-click the FCoE Smart Component executable, and then click Install.
The Smart Component automatically installs the FCoE driver without user intervention.
5. Click Reboot to complete the installation.
Installing QConvergeConsole Windows agents
This is an optional procedure. If you plan to manage the CNA with QConvergeConsole, you must
install the QConvergeConsole agent on each server that has a CNA.
To install the Windows QConvergeConsole agent:
1. Obtain the latest Windows QConvergeConsole agent Smart Component for your configuration
and copy it to your Windows server. For downloading instructions, see “Downloading the
QConvergeConsole kits and agents” (page 16).
2. Unzip the Smart Component.
3. Double-click the agent Smart Component executable and follow the on-screen instructions.
Installing the Linux drivers
NOTE: If you are performing a BFS installation, see the Fibre Channel over Ethernet chapter in
the HP SAN Design Reference Guide at http://www.hp.com/go/sdgmanuals for FCoE and NIC
driver installation instructions. Then, return to this section to complete the QConvergeConsole
installation, as well as additional software.
To install the Linux drivers:
1. Download the appropriate NIC and FCoE driver kits for your distribution.
2. Unzip and install the appropriate RPM or .bin packages.
For additional instructions on installing the RPM, see the readme.txt file that is included in
the kit.
Installing QConvergeConsole Linux agents
This is an optional procedure. If you plan to manage the CNA with QConvergeConsole, you must
install the QConvergeConsole agent on each server that has a CNA.
To install the Linux QConvergeConsole agent:
1. Download the appropriate agent kit for your distribution. For downloading instructions, see
“Downloading the QConvergeConsole kits and agents” (page 16).
2. Unzip and install the appropriate RPM for your distribution.

Updating firmware and BIOS
This section describes how to download and update firmware on Windows and Linux.
Downloading firmware
To locate and download the firmware from the website:
1. Go to http://www.hp.com/go/support.
2. Select Download drivers and software (and firmware).
3. Using the HP model number as your guide, enter the CNA model number in the for product
box.
4. Select Cross operating system (BIOS, firmware, diagnostics, etc.).
5. Select the Universal Firmware Image and download it to your server.
