Verify Fibre Channel switch zoning for FC storage
Verify that the Fibre Channel zoning and the CNA port WWNs match those displayed by the
CNA.
Verify Fibre Channel storage device discovery
After verifying the startup BIOS message, CNA link, and Fibre Channel zoning; verify that the
CNA can discover the configured Fibre Channel storage devices.
• Perform the first level of CNA Fibre Channel storage device discovery at the BIOS level using
the FCoE BIOS utility. Use this utility (see “CNA startup BIOS message” (page 23)) at system
startup to discover and display the storage devices in the attached FC fabric.
• If the server is capable of booting, perform the next level of discovery by the operating system.
Using QConvergeConsole (see Figure 18 (page 22)) to display the Fibre Channel storage
devices the server can see.

If unable to see the storage controller in the QConvergeConsole, the most likely causes are Fibre
Channel zoning or SAN connectivity between the CNA and the storage controller.
If able see the storage controller, but not any of its LUNs, the most likely cause is a LUN mapping
problem.
