The Storage System P assword Access window opens.

4. Click Disable.

The Disable Password Access to Storage System window opens.

5. Select the stora g e system World Wide Node Name from the drop-down list.

NOTE:

Make sure you select the storage system from which you cleared passwords using the

OCP on the controller.

6. Click Disable Password.

Aconﬁrmation box opens.

7. Click Yes to disable the password.

Step 4. Halting all host access to the storage system for an

ofﬂine upgrade (optional)

Estimated time to complete: Varies. Must be performed for each host a ccessing the storage system.

Online upgrade is supported from XCS 6.100, 6.000, or 5.1xx. Because of the minimal disruption to

system operation, the online procedure is recommended. If the upgrade will be performed ofﬂine, a ll

host I/O to the storage system must be stopped. Stop all applications accessing the storage system and

shut down hosts, if necessary.

Step 5. Upgrading controller ﬁrm ware to XCS 6.110

Estimated time to complete: 25–30 minutes

CAUTION:

Before upgrading the controller ﬁrmware, ensure that the storage system conﬁguration is stable and is

not being changed in any way. If any conﬁg urations changes are in progress, monitor them using HP

Command View EVA and wait until they are completed before proceeding with the upgrade.

Upgrading controller ﬁrmware

IMPORTANT:

If upg rading from XCS 5.1x0 to 6.110, all source and destination DR groups must be in synchronous

mode before upgrading. Check each DR group to veri fy this set ting before proceeding.

To upgrade the controller ﬁrmware:

1. Open HP Command View EVA in your browser.

2. In the Navig ation pane, select the storage system you want to upgrade.

The p roperties window for the selected storage system o pens.

3. Click Code load.
