HP StorageWorks 4x00/6x00/8x00 Enterprise Virtual Array release notes (XCS 6.110) (5697-7469, April 2008)

LUN shrink operationsThis enhancement ensures that your host operating system can handle
changes in volume size before you change the underlying virtual disk size. Changing the size
on some operating systems can cause instability or data loss.
Local replicationAdded support for mirrorclones of virtual disks that are DR group members
and restoration of these mirrorclones. This support is only available on arrays running c ontroller
software 6.1xx.
Host mode added for Microsoft Windows Server 2008A new host mode, called WindowsLH,
has been added for Microsoft Windows Server 2008.
Additional
operating system support
Support for
the following operating systems has been added since the release of XCS 6.000:
VMW are ESX 2.5.4, 3.0.0, and 3.0.1
SuSE SLES 10 (32-bit, 64-bit, and x86_64)
OpenVMS 8.3
(Alpha and IA64)
Tru64 UNIX 5.1b-4
HP-UX 11iv3.0

Operating systems no longer supported in XCS 6.100 or later
The following operating systems are no longer s upported in XCS 6.100 or later:
Novell Netware 6.0
Tru64 UNIX 5.1b-2
Fixes
XCS 6.110 provides support for the HSV200-B and HSV210-B controllers. These controllers require a
minimum v
ersion of XCS 6.110.
The following issues have been resolved in XCS 6.100 or later:
Deleting multiple disks from a disk group in a low free space situation does not affect data
availab
ility.
Deleting a DR group memb er in a replication environment between an EVA3000/5000 and
an EVA4x00/6x00/8x00 does not result in a controller reset.
Modied the rmware to ensure that an unresponsive error does not occur when the Send
Diagno
stic command is sent from HP Command View EVA.
Modied the rmware so that the Get SCM I Command Status (GSCS) SCSI command does not
conict with host applications that may issue a SCSI Extended Copy command.
Corre
cted an issue which could result in a controller reset with an active controller with a failed
battery during unit ownership transitions.
Corrected an issue where online disk rmware c ode load actions could lead to a c ontroller reset.
Disk d
rive capacity usage is now correctly calculated after an online d isk drive rmwar e upgrade .
After removing or inserting a disk, the disk group capacity is now displayed correctly.
After reducing the allocated capac ity of the DR group log in HP Continuous Access EVA
congurations, tha t capacity becomes available disk space.
Reso
lved a repeating controller resynchronization that o ccurred when detaching a mirrorclone
while an instant restore was in progress.
