LED. This shows that the port is properly connected and able to
communicate with its attached devices. The Logged-In LED
remains illuminated as long as the port is initialized or logged in. If
the port connection is broken or an error occurs that disables the
port, the Logged-In LED is extinguished.
The flex port Activity LED indicates that data is passing through the
port. Each frame that the port transmits or receives illuminates this
LED for 50 milliseconds. This makes it possible to observe the
transmission of a single frame.
Management Port
The management port is an RJ-45 connector that provides a
connection to a management workstation through a 10/100 Base-T
Ethernet cable. The default IP address is 10.0.0.1. A management
workstation can be a Windows®, Solaris™, Linux®, or Mac OS X®
workstation and is used to configure and manage the LSW1FC4P0
card. You can manage the LSW1FC4P0 card over an Ethernet
connection using the command line interface, QuickTools™, or the
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
The Ethernet port has two LEDs: the Activity LED (green) and the
Link Status LED (green). The Activity LED illuminates when data is
being transmitted or received over the Ethernet connection. The
Link Status LED illuminates continuously when an Ethernet
connection has been established.
Maintenance Button
The maintenance button is a dual-function momentary switch that
resets the LSW1FC4P0 card or places the card in maintenance
mode. Maintenance mode sets the IP address to 10.0.0.1 and
