Installing Transceivers

This product uses Class 1 laser optical transceivers to communicate

over the fiber optic conductors. The U.S. Department of Health and

Human Services (DHHS) does not consider Class 1 lasers to be

hazardous. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)

825 Laser Safety Standard requires labeling in English, German,

Finnish, and French stating that the product uses Class 1 lasers.

Because it is impractical to label the transceivers, the following label

is provided in this manual.

Warning

Class 1 laser product. Do not view directly with optical instruments.

The switch supports a variety of SFP+ transceivers. To install a

transceiver, insert the transceiver into the port and gently press until

it snaps in place. To remove a transceiver, gently press the

transceiver into the port to release the tension, then pull on the

release tab or lever and remove the transceiver. Different

transceiver manufacturers have different release mechanisms.
