Description

The XCS 6.200 system software provides improved functionality to support the EVA4000/6000/8000

and EVA4100/6100/8100. System software 6.200 supersedes 6.110. XCS 6.200 can be installed

on any EVA4000/6000/8000 or EVA4100/6100/8100 storage system.

XCS 6.110 is the minimum required version for the EVA4100/6100/8100. To determine if you can

upgrade to XCS 6.200 yourself, see the HP StorageWorks 4x00/6x00/8x00 Enterprise Virtual Array

updating product software guide for more information. If you have any questions, contact your

HP-authorized service representative.

NOTE:

If you are using asynchronous replication, HP strongly recommends that you upgrade to XCS 6.200

or later to ensure maximum performance.

Enterprise Virtual Array running XCS 6.200. Much of the information included here is not documented

elsewhere, so it is recommended that you read this information thoroughly before installing and

operating the EVA4x00/6x00/8x00.

Upgrade paths

The XCS 6.200 upgrade paths are shown in Table 1.

IMPORTANT:

If upgrading from XCS 5.1x0, all source and destination DR groups must be in synchronous mode

before upgrading. Check each DR group to verify this setting before proceeding.
