Description
The XCS 6.110 sy
stem software for the EVA4x00/6x00/8x00 provides improved functionality to support
the EVA4100/6100/8100. System software 6.110 supersedes and replaces 6.100. XCS 6.110 can
be installed on any EVA4000/6000/8000 or EVA4100/6100/8100 storage solution. Customers
currently running 6.100 on an EVA4000/6000/8000 do not need to upgrade to XCS 6.110 as the only
functional difference between 6.100 and 6.110 is added support for the EVA4100/6100/8100.
XCS 6.110 is t
he minimum required version for the EVA4100/6100/ 81 0 0. To determine if you

ing enhanced asynchronous replication, HP strongly recommends that you upgrade to XCS

, so it is recommended that you read this information thoroughly before installing and
operating
the EVA4x00/6x00/8x00.
Update recommendation Customers currently running 6.100 on an EVA 4000/6000/8000 do not
need to upgrade to XCS 6.110 as there are no functional or operational differences between 6.100
and 6.110.
Upgrade paths
The XCS 6.110 upgrade paths are shown in Table 1.
IMPORTANT:
To upgrade from an HSV200-A or HSV210-A controller to an HSV200-B or HSV210-B controller,
HP requires that you also upgrade both I/O modules (A and B) to AD623C (I/O M odule A) and
AD624C (I/O Module B) on each disk enclosure. If you are upgrading to an EVA6100 (HSV200-B) or
EVA8100 (HSV210-B) and you do not already have the 30-10022-0 1 loop switches installed, you must
also upgrade the loop switches to 30 -10022-01.
