8. Click Code Load System.

The new storage system software is copied to the controllers and validated. A sliding bar

progress screen is updated as the code segments are validated.

9. The upgrade process begins and the Initializing firmware code load page opens. See

Figure 16 (page 46). This page is displayed while the upgrade components are processed.

After Figure 16 (page 46) appears, both controllers resynchronize and begin operating with

the new controller software version. Once the resynchronization is complete, the controllers

being processing host I/Os. Next additional code within the storage system is updated, which

can take up to 10 minutes to complete. This includes firmware on the I/O modules in the disk

enclosures. During this interval, the Storage System Updating Firmware window opens

(Figure 17 (page 46)).
