HP B-series Fabric OS 7.1.0c Release Notes (5697-2892, October 2013 - includes all 7.1.0x versions)

HP SN8000B 8-Slot SAN Backbone Director Switch platform. (The ICL 2nd POD license does
not apply to the HP SN8000B 4-Slot SAN Director Switch.)
• Enterprise ICL License enables the connection of more than four SN8000B SAN Director
platforms within a single fabric using optical ICLs to deliver massive scalability. This license
augments but does not replace existing licensed ICL support (ICL POD licenses are still required
to enable ICL ports) for larger ICL-based topologies of 5 to 10 SN8000B SAN Director chassis
per fabric. This license is required to be installed on every SN8000B SAN Director chassis
with ICLs in a fabric when an ICL-based topology exceeds the four chassis limit. This license
is recognized/displayed only when operating with Fabric OS 7.0.1 and later. There is a
separate license for each of the SN8000B SAN Directors, the HP SN8000B 8-slot Director
Enterprise Inter Chassis LTU and the HP SN8000B 4-slot Director Enterprise Inter Chassis Link
LTU.
NOTE: The Enterprise ICL License supports a maximum of nine HP SN8000B 8-Slot SAN
Backbone Director/HP SN8000B 4-Slot SAN Director chassis connected in a full mesh
topology, or up to ten HP SN8000B 8-Slot SAN Backbone Director/HP SN8000B 4-Slot SAN
Director chassis connected in a core-edge topology.
Temporary license support
HP now supports Universal Temporary Licenses. To obtain the Universal Temporary Licenses, select
the Software Demo & Evaluation Downloads option at the HP website: www.software.hp.com.
The following list of licenses are available as Universal Temporary licenses. The same license key
can be installed on any switch running Fabric OS 6.3 or later that supports the specific feature.
Universal Temporary license keys can be installed only once on a particular switch, but can be
applied to as many switches as needed. Temporary use duration (the length of time the feature is
enabled on a switch) is provided with the license key. All Universal Temporary license keys have
an expiration date beyond which the license can no longer be installed on any unit.
