3. Power on the maintenance PC.
4. On the taskbar, choose Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > HyperTerminal.
5. In the Connection Description dialog box, enter a session name in the Name box for the
maintenance PC you are configuring, then click OK.
6. In the Connect To dialog box, select serial port COM1 from the Connect using list, and then
click OK .
7. In the COM1 Properties dialog box, select 38400 from the Bits per second list and select
Xon/Xoff from the Flow control list, then click OK.
HyperTerminal establishes a serial connection with the service processor to which the
maintenance PC is physically connected.
8. Press ENTER to display the login prompt in the terminal window.
