HP 3PAR System Reporter 3.1 MU1 Software Release Notes (QL226-97308, December 2013)
DescriptionItem
Workaround:
Add both 5783 (used for SSL based connection) and 5782 (used for non-SSL based
connection) ports to the firewall and other security exception list(s).
If you are managing HP 3PAR storage systems with 3.1.2 MU3 P16, 3.1.1 MU3 P27,
or 2.3.1 MU5 P35 patches, ensure that you have a valid array certificate in the
exception file even if Use SSL option is not selected for a storage system.
Troubleshooting
Sampleloop for a storage system fails when TPDCERTFILE path variable is not set
properly
Sampleloop for a storage system fails with the error
2013-10-23 06:38:07: Status from <Storage System IP>: failed {<TPDCERTFILE
environment variable PATH> is not a regular file.}
child killed: SIGABRT (2 secs)
This issue occurs if System Reporter is used to manage HP 3PAR Storage System with HP 3PAR OS
3.1.2 MU3 P16, 3.1.1 MU3 P27, or 2.3.1 MU5 P35 patches and, if any host application or user
manually creates the TPDCERTFILE environment variable whose path is not set properly. These
patches have HP 3PAR Storage System enhancement that creates a new self-signed SSL certificate.
Ensure that TPDCERTFILE environment variable is set with a valid path.
For more information on TPDCERTFILE variable usage, see the HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 MU3 Patch 16
Release Notes.
