8 Discover the LUNs on the ESX Hosts.

9 After exporting the VLUNs to the ESX Host, rescan the HBA to verify if the VLUN is now

visible to the ESX Host.

10 Create a VMFS-3 Volume.

11 Deploy a VM.

8.2 Configure Remote Copy with IP between Protected Site and Recovery

Site

The HP 3PAR Remote Copy provides the capability to copy virtual volumes from the protected

site storage system to the recovery site storage system.

Please ensure that the storage system hardware is setup appropriately for creating a Remote

Copy configuration between protected site and recovery site.

8.2.1 Initial Setup for Remote Copy from the Protected Site.

1 From the protected site (s230 in the following examples) set up the Gigabit Ethernet link.

2 Verify connectivity (s230).

NOTE: For the HP 3PAR Replication Adapter to successfully discover replicated

LUNs for the VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager, the LUN must contain a

VMFS-3 file system. This can be done from VI client via the Configuration >

Storage > Add Storage mechanism.
