HP 3PAR Management Plug-in and Recovery Manager 2.4 Patch 01 Software for VMware vSphere
provisioning functions provide an easier way to provision Virtual Volumes from vCenter, but are not
a replacement for provisioning using the HP 3PAR Management Console. If your provisioning requires
specific attributes, then consider using the HP 3PAR Management Console. The following capabilities
and attributes are supported while provisioning New and Similar volumes with HP 3PAR Management
Plug-in and Recovery Manager 2.4 Patch 01 Software:
User CPGs
Snapshot CPGs
Volume size
Snapshot allocation warnings
Snapshot allocation limits
User space allocation limits
NOTE: The Provision New feature depends on the VV templates created on the array. Therefore the
template must be created with User Space and Copy Space assigned.
Installing the Patch
RMV 2.4.0 must be installed and running to install the patch.
To install Patch 01 on RMV 2.4.0:
1. Click StartControl PanelAdministrative Tools, and click Services. The Services window appears.
NOTE: Ensure the following:
All users have logged off from the vSphere client before you stop the RMV and VASA services.
Disable all the jobs scheduled in RMV.
2. Stop the following services:
RMV service (HP 3PAR Management Plug-in and Recovery Manager for VMware vShpere
Web Service)
VASA service (HP 3PAR VASA Provider for VMware vSphere Web Service)
3. Run the RMV 2.4.0 Patch 01 package by clicking an appropriate msp file.
Depending on the operating system that you use, click one of the following msp files:
for 32 bit OS— RMVMware_x86_Patch01.msp
for 64 bit OS— RMVMware_x64_Patch01.msp
4. The Windows Installer prompts you to Repair or Remove the package. Select Repair to install the
patch.
CAUTION: If you select Remove, the core RMV 2.4.0 package is removed from the system.
5. After the patch installation is complete, navigate to the Services window, and verify whether the
RMV and VASA services are started.
NOTE: If the RMV and VASA services are not running, you must manually start these services.
Verifying the Patch installation
To verify the installation of the patch:
