HP 3PAR Peer Motion Guide

NOTE: In case there is a need to abort the prepared migration, use the removemigration
command for the same: removemigration -migrationid <migrationid>.
8. startmigration migrationid <migrationid>
9. showmigrationdetails migrationid <migrationid>.
This completes the successful flow of the migration.
The following optional commands are to be used to remove the added source and destination
storage systems:
1. removesource -uid <uid> -type 3par
2. removedestination -uid <uid>
NOTE: Removing a source/destination storage system also removes the migration history for the
respective source/destination storage system.
Virtual Volume Set
HP 3PAR Peer Motion Utility supports Volume set and Host set migration.
With Volume set migration, all volumes of set will be migrated to destination along with their
presentation. Volume set migration is supported with following limitation. Individual volumes
of set are migrated but volume set is not created at destination storage system
With Host set migration, all hosts of host set are migrated and will be part of corresponding
host set as in source storage system.
The following are use cases of volume set and host set migration:
Host set—based migration examples
1. When a volume from a volume set is presented to host set and host-based migration is triggered,
all volumes that are presented to selected host set are migrated.
NOTE: Host set name should be preceded with “set:” to identify input as host set name
instead of host name.
Command syntax: createmigration -sourceuid 270002AC001BA1 -srchost
"set:hostset1" -migtype online -destcpg TEST_CPG -destprov thin
2. When volume set is presented to host set and host-based migration is triggered, all volumes
of volume set are migrated and presented to the host set (and corresponding host members).
Command syntax: createmigration -sourceuid 270002AC001BA1 -srchost
"set:hostset1" -migtype online -destcpg TEST_CPG -destprov thin
