HP 3PAR OS 2.3.1 MU5 Patch 35 Release Notes (QL226-97099)

version 2.2.2 and registration of a new HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage System continue only if the SSL
certificate is accepted.
The SSL certificate of the HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage System must be accepted using HP 3PAR VSS
Provider for Microsoft Windows version 2.2.2.
See the HP 3PAR VSS Provider 2.2.2 Software for Microsoft Windows User Guide at the HP 3PAR
VSS Provider Manuals page for further details.
NOTE: The new CLI client in Patch 35 needs to be installed before VSS Provider is installed.
1.7.7 System Reporter
HP 3PAR System Reporter version 3.1 MU2 prompts you to save the SSL certificate when adding a
new HP 3PAR storage system from the System Reporter interface. See the HP 3PAR System Reporter
3.1 MU2 User Guide for more details. You can find System Reporter documentation at the HP 3PAR
System Reporter Manuals page.
NOTE: The new CLI client bundled with the HP 3PAR System Reporter 3.1 MU2 kit must be installed.
1.7.8 HP 3PAR Storage Replication Adapter
HP 3PAR Storage Replication Adapter for VMwar vCenter Site Recovery Manager™ requires that
you to validate and accept the SSL certificate of the HP StoreServ Storage System.
You must accept the SSL certificate using the TpdSrm utility before you configure Site Recovery Manager
with the HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system. See the HP 3PAR Storage Replication Adapter for
VMwar vCenter Site Recovery Manager™ User Guide at the HP 3PAR Storage Replication Adapter
Manuals page for further details.
1.7.8.1 Validating HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage SSL certificates on SRA 4.1
HP 3PAR StoreServ enables management and validation of SSL certificates by the host and client
applications to establish a secure connection.
HP 3PAR CLI and HP 3PAR OS versions 2.3.1 MU5 P35 and 3.1.1 MU3 P27 support a self-signed
2048-bit RSA SSL certificate for HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage.
After upgrading to HP 3PAR OS/CLI versions 2.3.1 MU5 P35 or 3.1.1 MU3 P27, SRA 4.1 requires
that you accept and validate the HP 3PAR StoreServ Server SSL certificate. This is required to establish
a secure connection and perform the operations related to HP 3PAR StoreServ. If you do not accept
the certificate, SRA will not function.
To accept the certificate on SRA 4.1, perform the following:
1. Navigate to Windows Environment Variables and add a new system variable with the following
details:
Variable Name TPDCERTDIR.
Variable Value <User specified directory path>.
2. Restart the VMware Site Recovery Manager service.
3. Launch HP 3PAR CLI and enter the login credentials to connect to HP 3PAR StoreServ.
The CLI Server Certificate details are displayed.
4. Enter yes to connect to HP 3PAR StoreServ.
5. Enter yes to permanently add the certificate as an exception.
