HP 3PAR InForm OS 2.3.1 MU4 Patch 19 Release Notes (QL226-96132, August 2011)
These release notes are for Patch 19 (P19), which is intended for application to the HP 3PAR InForm
OS 2.3.1.330 (MU4).
1.1 Supported Platforms

1.2 Verifying the Patch Installation
The installation of Patch 19 can be verified from an Interactive CLI session from the SPMAINT. Issue
the CLI command showversion -a -b to see Patch 19 listed.

1.4 Modifications to the InForm OS
The following items have been addressed in this release.

Each 4Gb Fibre Channel port on the InServ has 511 Remote Port Indicator
(RPI) resources. One resource is used when an initiator logs in. When the

initiator logs out or gets disconnected, the RPI was not being released. If the
initiator logs back in with the same fibre channel D_ID, the same RPI was
getting reused, but if it logged in with a different D_ID, the original RPI was
lost. After 511 such logins, the resource would be completely exhausted and
all further logins would be blocked. This was fixed by releasing the RPI when
an initiator logs out or is disconnected.
1.5 Known Issues with the InForm OS
1.5.1 Error Message When Upgrading to a major InForm OS (Bug 62777)
When upgrading from 2.3.1 MU4 P19 to a major InForm OS release, the following error message
will appear:
"/lib/modules/2.6.18-prep-3pardata/tpd.ko.text.checksum" is not a core
dump: File format not recognized.
Workaround
This error message can safely be ignored and will not affect the upgrade.
