HP 3PAR FalconStor CDP NSS Implementation Guide
2 Configuring the HP 3PAR Storage System and FalconStor
CDP/NSS for Fibre Channel
This chapter describes how to establish a connection between an HP 3PAR Storage System and a
FalconStor CDP/NSS host using Fibre Channel and how to set up the fabric when running InForm
OS 3.1.x, OS 2.3.x, and OS 2.2.x. For information on setting up physical connectivity for a
particular HP 3PAR Storage System, see the appropriate HP installation manual.
NOTE: InForm OS configurations offer ALUA compliance with the ALUA-compliant versions of
FalconStor CDP/NSS (versions 6.15 and later).
Port/Host Quick Reference
The following table describes port configuration settings in a given InForm OS:

FalconStor CDP/NSS and HP 3PAR Storage System Configuration
Overview
This guide describes how to integrate FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) and Continuous
Data Protector (CDP) solutions to use the HP 3PAR Storage System as a storage backend. For
specific supported versions of FalconStor CDP/NSS, consult the HP 3PAR OS InForm Configuration
Matrix, which is available on the HP SPOCK website:
http://www.hp.com/storage/spock
FalconStor CDP/NSS solutions are available in multiple configurations designed to suit various
business needs and deployments. This guide focuses on FalconStor's software kit solution which
can be installed on various types of supported server hardware. In addition, this configuration
specifically focuses on a high availability solution attached via a Fibre Channel SAN to HP 3PAR
Storage Systems. Consult the appropriate 3PAR documentation and/or vendor documentation for
additional supported configurations.
The primary components of an HP 3PAR Storage System - FalconStor CDP/NSS solution consist
of FalconStor storage servers, SAN Clients, FalconStor's Management Console, and fabric attached
HP 3PAR Storage System. In this configuration, HP 3PAR storage Logical Units Numbers (LUNs)
are presented via redundant paths to FalconStor's storage servers. The FalconStor Management
