Defining and Creating Hosts for InForm OS 2.3.x
Obtain the FalconStor CDP/NSS Fibre Channel WWPNs from the FalconStor Management Console
GUI in order to create a host definition. Follow recommended zoning guidelines in this document
and the FalconStor documentation. In the following example, a host definition was created for
each FalconStor CDP/NSS appliance.
Create a host definition on HP 3PAR Storage System by issuing the following InForm OS CLI
command:
cli% createhost [options] <hostname> [WWPN…]
Example:
cli% createhost -persona 6 ipstor1 2100001B32826F95
cli% createhost -persona 6 ipstor2 2100001B32846099
Verify all Fibre Channel connectivity and validate communication between the FalconStor CDP/NSS
appliance and HP 3PAR Storage System by issuing the following InForm OS CLI command:
cli% showhost

At this stage, the FalconStor CDP/NSS appliance is properly configured and ready for LUN devices
to be presented to it.
Configuring Ports for InForm OS 2.2.x
Configure the desired HP 3PAR Storage System ports as fabric target ports that will connect to
ports designated as initiators on the FalconStor CDP/NSS appliance. In this example, two ports
were configured as fabric targets. For high availability, the ports were located on alternate HP 3PAR
Storage System nodes. Each target was zoned creating two paths with two initiators, residing on
alternate FalconStor CDP/NSS appliances. Configure the fabric ports by issuing the following
InForm OS CLI command:
cli% controlport persona 7 [node:slot:port]
