HP 3PAR Apple OS X Implementation Guide
3 Configuring a Host with Fibre Channel
This chapter describes the tasks necessary for connecting the host to Fibre Channel.
Checking the Host for the ATTO Driver
HP recommends the use of ATTO HBAs and ATTO drivers with Apple OS X. The following example
checks for an 8G ATTO driver:
#/Applications/ATTO/CelerityFC8/atinfo -I all | grep -I "driver version"
Driver Version: 2.2.5 (2.25.2.0)
Driver Version: 2.2.5 (2.25.2.0)
Driver Version: 2.2.5 (2.25.2.0)
Driver Version: 2.2.5 (2.25.2.0)
Installing the ATTO HBA
Install the ATTO HBA into the Apple OS X host according to the documentation provided with the
HBA and the host.
Installing the ATTO Driver
Request the recommended HP SPOCK multipath driver version for Apple OS X from the ATTO
website at http://www.attotech.com. Follow the ATTO supplied instructions for installing the driver.
Configuring the ATTO Driver
NOTE: Make sure that you have installed the multipath version of the ATTO driver. When the
host reboots any discovered LUNs are configured as multipath devices.
Apple OS X requires a LUN 0 to discover any additional LUNs.
