Volume Re-Layout Following Hardware Upgrade

If more than eight dynamic optimization tasks are started, task number nine and above are
queued until one or more of the initial eight tasks are completed.
15.3.1 Dynamic Optimization CLI Commands
The following commands are used for dynamic optimization tasks. Refer to the InForm OS
Command Line Interface Reference for complete information about the optional and required
arguments for each command.
compactld - Reclaims space from a group of volumes that share logical disks.
compactcpg - Reclaims space from CPGs that have become less efficient in space usage
from volume creation, deletion, and relocation.
createcpg - Creates a CPG to which a volume is moved during a dynamic optimization
task. This command is necessary when tuning volumes originally created with the
createvv command.
tunevv - Initiates tuning tasks for volumes originally created with the createvv
command.
tunealdvv - Initiates tuning tasks for volumes originally created with the createaldvv
command.
15.4 Volume Re-Layout Following Hardware Upgrade
15.4.1 Base VVs
To re-layout base volumes following a hardware upgrade:
If your volume was created using the createaldvv command, issue the tunealdvv
-p -nd <nodes> <VV_name>
command to re-lay out the volume so that its underlying
NOTE: When using the tunealdvv command, it is recommended that in addition
to the options listed in the following procedure, the same options used during
volume creation, minus the
-cnt option, are also specified when tuning to
maintain consistency (RAID type, etc.) between the untuned and tuned volumes.
