3PAR InForm Operating System 2.3.1 Release Notes (320-200178 Rev D, May 2010)

2.15
InForm OS Version 2.3.1 3PAR InForm Operating System Release Notes
37568 Failed 3PAR Fibre Channel Adapter
causes the InForm Management
Console to take up to 20 minutes to
populate InServ Storage Server
data.
A failed 4-port 4G Fibre Channel adapter could
sometimes result in commands on the InServ
Storage Server taking a long time to complete
as the adapter driver tried to communicate to
the unresponsive adapter firmware.
This has been fixed by correctly detecting the
failed adapter and stopping all
communications to it.
37704 Adjust TPVV grow limit after
growtpvv.
The TPVV physical allocation limit is specified as
a percentage of the virtual size. After a
growtpvv operation that change the virtual
size, the system manager now re-checks for the
physical allocation limit and warning points
and takes any needed action such as allocating
more space to the TPVV.
37822 Volumes could refer to removed
CPGs.
A volume created with createvv in release
2.2.3 that was tuned using tunevv usr_cpg in
release 2.2.4 could retain a pointer to its earlier
CPG that would not prevent removal of that
CPG. If that CPG was later removed,
showvv
would fail whenever its results included that
volume.
37884 Dynamic Optimization of Thinly
Provisioned Virtual Volumes (TPVVs)
with very large snapshot space can
lead to extended host I/O pause.
Running the compactcpg, tunevv, or tunetpvv
commands that involve TPVVs with very large
snapshot space could cause host I/O to be
blocked for long periods of times. Such
operations could also block SCSI reservation
processing for long periods.
This has been fixed by reducing the block times
to seconds.
