3PAR InForm Operating System 2.3.1 Release Notes (320-200178 Rev D, May 2010)
2.9
InForm OS Version 2.3.1 3PAR InForm Operating System Release Notes
2.5.4.8 SNMP
2.5.4.9 Other Enhancements
■ Ability to rename a Common Provisioning Group (CPG).
■ Ability to number the virtual volume starting at an arbitrary number.
■ Dual-Snap TPVV: Ability to allocate snapshot space and user space from different CPGs for a
TPVV. This provides the flexibility for managing the characteristics of the snapshot volume
independently of the user space.
■ Tuning a TPVV to a new CPG that spans all nodes will assign the LDs across all the nodes.
2.5.5 Security and Compliance Requirements for Protecting and Retaining
Data
2.5.5.1 Virtual Lock
Virtual Lock can be used to apply a configurable retention period on virtual volumes (including
base volumes, Virtual Copies, and Full Copies). During the configured Virtual Lock retention
period, the virtual volume is protected against deletion even by the highest privileged InServ
Storage Server user. Virtual Lock coupled with Read-Only Virtual Copies (snapshots) provides a
frozen, point-in-time copy of the data. Virtual Lock is an optional and separately orderable
software product..
