For details about connecting the InServ Storage Server to the host, see Configuring the InServ
Storage Server for Fibre Channel on page 2.1.
8.1 Setting the Host HBA Parameters for a SAN Boot
The IBM FC HBA does not require any setting parameters on the host side when booting from
the InServ Storage Server.
8.2 Assigning LUNs as Boot Volumes
On the InServ Storage Server create a VV of appropriate size and export a VLUN to the host
definition that will be used to represent the AIX host definition for booting from an InServ
Storage Server.
For details, see 2.1 Configuring the InServ Storage Server Running InForm OS 2.3.X on page 2.3
and 4.1.3 Exporting LUNs to the Host on page 4.3.
For the purpose of the AIX installation, restrict the connection from the host to the InServ
Storage Server to a single path. Only a single path should be available on the InServ Storage
Server and a single path on the host to the VLUN VV that will be the AIX boot volume.
