Errors when booting up the virtual SP (Issue 80861)
You may encounter an ESXi server error, an eth1 error, or a kdump error.
• If the ESXi server is not set up to support the DHCP server, it will not provide an IP address to
the client ESXi; therefore, the VSP will not get the IP address.
• An eth1 error occurs because the static IP 10.255.155.54 address is used by some other
system, and it is conflicting.
• A kdump error is due to the Linux kernel. It has nothing to do with SP or VSP. The kdump utility
is used for kernel-level deIssueging, and it must be configured during kernel compilation.
“Blob does not contain a libraries packagen” error (Issue 80933)
When you choose SP menu item 1.16.1 to apply the HP 3PAR OS on the SP, you receive the
following message: “Blob does not contain a libraries packagen Unable to extract libeditn4096
blocks”.
This message can be safely ignored. This has no impact on the functionality.
Changing IP address in SPOCC (Issue 81233)
When an IP address is changed from SPOCC and activated, you must exit and then log back in
using the new IP address. Failing to do so may cause SPOCC to become unresponsive. This occurs
because the SPOCC website has changed to the new IP.
SPOCC: Deselect check box for CDROM and "Stage ISO from CDROM" are not
functioning properly (Issue 81299)
If you check the CDROM check box to stage an update from DVD and then deselect the check
box, you also must manually delete the /mnt/cdrom entry from the input box that was populated
when you originally checked the check box.
xGate crashes with a segmentation violation while shutting down (Issue 81389)
While performing an SP configuration task, the xGate process is stopped and restarted. In some
situations the xGate process crashes with a segmentation violation while it is shutting down. The
following error message is displayed:
Stopping SSAgent agent.
xGate[3126]: segfault at 9b5eb28 ip 09b5eb28 sp bff0ba4c error 15
Workaround: None needed. xGate is successfully restarted as part of the configuration.
Cannot eject HP 3PAR OS CD using the eject button after the 4.1 SP has been
upgraded with new OS code (Issue 81476)
Workaround: Use SPOCC or SPMAINT to unmount the CD. Then, the eject button will work.
SPOCC current usage status displays usage error instead of expected results (Issue
81486)
Workaround: Use SPMAINT.
Policy Server connection with DNS to HTTP proxy with and without authentication
fails (Issue 81319)
When using a proxy server, specify the fully qualified hostname (FQHN) of the Policy Server.
Otherwise, the proxy server may not attempt to connect to it.
