HP 3PAR Service Processor Software 4.1.x Release Notes (QR482-96666)
Known Issues with the Service Processor
Guided Maintenance: In certain cases, improper default disk logging may be set
(Issue 62583)
If you use the GM scripts to run servicemag start in preparation for disk replacement, GM
scripts will propose a default value for the logging parameter in servicemag start. In most
cases, the default value for logging is appropriate. However, if one disk is marked as “Degraded”
and another FC disk is marked as “Failed”, GM will set an inappropriate logging value of YES.
Make sure of and select the proper logging value.
Unable to perform SPrescue on virtual SP (VSP) (Issue 78284)
Workaround: Take periodic snapshots for VSP that will capture the running VSP image, and then
use a snapshot to restore configuration settings.
SPOCC: Clicking Begin Upgrade does not initiate the online upgrade (Issue 78679)
Workaround: Log out or go back to SPMAINT, and then try initiating the upgrade again.
Extra message "None" after "completed offline upgrade" (Issue 79480)
If the code stream from InServ to SP is broken (for reasons such as network issues), you will receive
an extra message "None" after "completed offline upgrade". This does not have any impact on
the upgrade, and you can safely ignore this message.
SP SPLOR file name not echoed to user (Issue 79924)
When generating a SPLOR file, the name of the file is not echoed to the user.
Workaround: Look in the SPLOR file listing via SPOCC to see the file name.
Refreshing SPOCC displays an additional page (Issue 80327)
If you manually refresh the whole SPOCC application from the browser, as opposed to just the
main frame of the frameset, the "Close your Browser" warning will be displayed as a separate
pop-up. This occurs because SPOCC is a frameset. If the main frameset closes, the browser believes
that the user has exited, and it triggers the warning. You can refresh the main frame without
triggering the exit. By design, there is no need to refresh the entire application.
Race condition exists that can cause InSplore failure (Issue 80334)
During the process of packaging data into a tar file, the InSplore process may display a "File
removed before we read it" message. This may be due to a timing issue where another InSplore
is initiated and deletes the files collected from this InSplore while they were being packaged
together using 'tar'. This could also occur if someone kills the InSplore, causing the cleanup routine
to begin removing the intermediate result files before the tar file is killed.
Workaround: Retry the InSplore operation.
SP should not wait indefinitely when a bootable DVD/CD is in the tray (Issue 80347)
When booting an SP with a release DVD in the tray, you will be presented with a input prompt,
and the system will wait in that state until you enter the text field. At that point, the boot will continue.
It is advisable NOT to leave a DVD in the tray, as this could inhibit any remote reboot and leave
the SP in an inoperable state until the DVD media is removed.
