What's New in the Service Processor
1. While running in Secure Network Mode, the Service Processor may stop sending files to
headquarters (HQ). This issue usually occurs after network connectivity to HP HQ has been
lost and then recovered. The Service Processor resumes sending pings to HQ, but files are not
sent from the SP to HQ.
An earlier patch (SP 4.1.0 P008) partially fixed this issue. This patch adds retry logic to the
agent, which is responsible for file transfer to HQ. This allows the Service Processor to continue
sending files after connectivity to HQ is re-established. In addition, a watch-dog capability on
the Service Processor can now revive or restart the agent responsible for sending files to HQ.
This additional watch-dog capability provides another level of fault-tolerance.
2. For customer sites where remote operations have been disabled, this patch accounts for the
fact that the agent has been deliberately disabled for remote operations and restarting the
agent will not change its state.
NOTE:
• This patch is available as physical media or as a self-install package for deployment to Secure
Network Mode devices (available internally to HP only).
• The SP must be at a minimum level of SP–4.1.0.GA-97 before upgrading to SP–4.1.0.GA-97
P010.
• This is a cumulative patch and contains fixes and changes that were contained in SP 4.1.0
P005, P008, and P009.
