HP 3PAR Service Processor Software 4.1.x Release Notes (QR482-96666)
9 Service Processor Software 4.1.0 MU2 P009 Release
What’s New in the Service Processor
The purpose of the SP 4.1.0 MU2 P009 patch is to:
• Provides Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate Management capability in SPOCC and
SPMAINT. You can use SPOCC and SPMAINT to view the storage-array SSL certificate.
• Storage-array Upgrade: During this operation the SP detects the storage-array OS Level and
generates a new SSL certificate for the array, if one does not already exist. This entire process
occurs without any input from the end user. Further, the existing array upgrade and patch
process remains unchanged.
• Attach Storage-Array to SP: When a storage-array is attached to an SP, the SP will detect the
storage-array OS Version and generates a new SSL certificate for the array, if one does not
already exist. This process is similar to a storage-array-upgrade and completes without any
input from the user.
• By default, the SP will generate a self-signed 2048-bit RSA storage-array SSL certificate. A
custom certificate can be generated using createcert. Information about createcert
can be viewed by executing createcert –h. Once the storage-array SSL certificate is
generated, it remains in effect even as the array is upgraded; it does not get overwritten.
• The current SSL certificate and its secure hash algorithm (SHA-1) signature can be viewed
from SPOCC or SPMAINT. The SHA-1 signature can be distributed to the Management Console,
Web Service API and any additional CLI client of the storage-array for the purpose of certificate
verification.
This patch is available as physical media or as a self-install package for deployment to Secure
Network Mode devices (available internally to HP only).
